JUL 2025
Commissioned by Hong Kong International Airport for the Hong Kong Arts & Culture Festival 2025, ”The Global Concourse“
animation which is displayed on the 12x24-meter digital screen in Hall A of the arrivals lobby, transforms airport moving walkways into a flowing canvas showcasing travelers across different continents. The Tokyo segment features temples interwoven with izakaya noren curtains, amidst Beijing‘s vibrant chaos, rickshaws dodge between centuries-old temples and gleaming glass skyscrapers. Paris presents steel silhouettes of the Eiffel Tower immersed in the Seine, and Sydney highlights the Opera House’s shell-shaped roof reflecting harbor glimmers with distant dolphins breaching waves. Dubai reveals artificial islands supporting mirrored skyscrapers where camel caravans fade along desert-glass façade horizons.
Through digital animation, flight information displays beneath the steel-and-glass terminal dome merge with the constant flow of passengers traversing security lanes and boarding gates. This kinetic panorama authentically documents Hong Kong International Airport‘s daily pulse as a global cultural crossroads, presenting a contemporary tapestry of multicultural convergence in motion.
